Barrio Bites: Mid-City is a story rooted in family, culture, and a lifelong love for baking. Proudly mother-daughter owned, the café is led by Victoria—co-founder of the beloved The Kupcake Factory—and her daughter Laura, a graduate of New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute. Together, they’ve brought generations of experience, passion, and creativity into one shared vision.
What began as early memories in the kitchen—learning, experimenting, and falling in love with the process—has grown into a full-circle moment. This new space carries forward a legacy of community-loved desserts while introducing something fresh to Mid-City.
